How to Use Pendulums: A Guide to Spiritual Communication Tools

Pendulums are a tool to speak with your Spirit Guide or Angels. Some people also use them to talk to any spirits on the other side, but I have found they are far more accurate when they are used to talk to higher beings like Spirit Guides or Angels.

They don’t have to be “official pendulums”. All you need is a string or chain (6” or longer works the best to give room for the pendulum to swing) attached to something that can read energy, generally stones or metal. You can use a necklace with a charm on it, a key on your keyring, or a piece of twine with a paper clip at the end will suffice.

If you haven’t used your pendulum before:

Be sure to introduce yourself and ask if it’s okay to use it to answer your questions.

Draw two intersecting lines perpendicular to each other, so they resemble a cross.

Ask the pendulum to show you a “Yes”.

The first time you use it, it may take a minute or two for it to start moving. This is normal.

Yes is generally up and down the 2 perpendicular lines, but it can go clockwise or counterclockwise, side to side, or at an angle.

Then ask it to show you a “No.”

Oftentimes, “no” is side to side, but like yes, it can do any number of things. That’s why it’s so important to ask your pendulum what it’s going to do so you get an accurate reading.

Ask your yes or no question(s).

If you have a question with several possible answers, then you will create something like this. One line for every option plus "other."

Try to get the slices as equal as possible.

Use as many slots as you have choices, plus one for “Other.” The Universe has options that we don’t see, so it’s important to give the Universe an option to say, none of these. Write the various choices on a line. Sometimes it will swing along two lines, meaning either is a good choice. This is also a great tool to use when you can’t find something like your keys, cellphone, or sunglasses.

Where is my…? This list of possible places it can be, and then add 'other."
