Protective Bubbles

Have you ever walked into a place and instantly felt uneasy, dark, or heavy?


I have walked out of stores where the energy was so dark and heavy that I realized there was nothing there that I wanted enough to justify feeling, or worse, absorbing that energy around me.


With all the negativity around us, this might be a good time to discuss protective bubbles.


Protective bubbles are helpful when you feel overwhelmed by other people’s energy, feel vulnerable, or when there is a lot of negative energy around you.


They can take on a variety of shapes, colors, or sizes. Your bubble can be: 

Clear, opaque, or colored, have mirrors or flowers on the outside,

Big or small, and, 

Made out of any material you want (soapy bubble, wood, brick, steel, glass, to name a few).   


They can be used in specific circumstances or can be automatically activated whenever you are with a certain person or place. You can also use them to block out everyone and everything, or you can customize them to allow exceptions.


I pick up on the emotions of those around me, also known as being an Empath.  I often feel overwhelmed in a large venue, even if people are excited to be there, like at a wedding, concert, or fair. For some people, going to holistic fairs can also be overwhelming because, in addition to all the people, spirits are also there to visit with their friends and relatives, so you're feeling those energies too.


When I used to be a food demonstrator, I would pick up on all the feelings of people feeling rushed, parents feeling frazzled by their kid’s behavior, and hostility from people who didn’t think I cooked samples fast enough or wouldn’t make them to their specifications. I'd come home frazzled, exhausted, or angry. Once I set my intention that my bubble went up as soon as I walked into the building, that made all the difference. I felt like me again.


It’s easy to put a protective bubble around you. Here are some easy step-by-step instructions on how to create your bubble and how to use it. For best results, either have someone read the instructions to you as you are going along with long pauses in between, or record yourself and listen to it when you are ready. Expanding and contracting the bubble helps you know where your boundaries are and where you feel the most safe and protected.


01. Get in a safe, quiet place.


02. Close your eyes.


03. Take at least three deep breaths. I prefer the 4X8 breathing. Inhale for 4, exhale for 8. The exhaling for 8 seconds activates the parasympathetic nervous system that helps you relax.


04. Then picture in your mind’s eye, an energy field around you in the shape of a bubble.


05. Decide what you want your bubble to be made out of. (Film, Glass, Metal, Wood, Brick…)


06. Picture the bubble how you want it by adding colors, flowers, or mirrors.

  (Mirrors are great for “mirroring” people’s negative energy back to them.)


07. Feel how safe and protected you feel inside your bubble.


08. Next, mentally put your arms out and expand your bubble to accommodate that.


09. Then expand it to encompass the room that you are in.


10. Then gradually expand it to :


  The building you are in.


  The city you are in.


  The county you are in.


  The state you are in.


11. Now gradually bring it back in: 

  The county you are in.


  The city you are in.


  The building you are in.

  The room that you are in.

  Your arms outstretched.


  As a second skin to your body.


12. Now expand your bubble to where it feels the most supportive.


13. Set the intention to recall this bubble when you need it.


14. Open your eyes.


Now you have your bubble ready and waiting. You can always change it, redecorate it, or make it bigger or smaller. This is your safe space. Enjoy it!


Anyone can do these things by themselves, but sometimes we like to practice with others like us. I am running a Clairs Class at AIMS on Wednesdays on the Loveland Campus from June 05 - July 17th on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30. Coming soon are the dates for the new Clairs 2 class in Loveland and an Intro into Mediumship class. I will also be at the Belu Olisa Fair on September 28 & 29, 2024 from 10 am to 5 pm both days.
